Will Gmail’s New Tabbed Inbox Effect Open Rates

Is email one of the best tool for marketing of your business? For organizations it is. The latest addition of Gmail’s new tabbed inbox has made email marketing more competitive and generated need to enhance its quality. Open rates of email are going to be affected because of the latest addition. The features of email hosting provider has an important role to play in this.

Earlier the emails landed in single inbox of Gmail. Whenever, one used to open his/her Gmail account, he/she used to get at least one sneak peak of promotional emails sent by different businesses. However now, any email containing list unsubscribe header/links in the content etc will end under Promotions or Update Tab. Moving from these tabs to the primary tabs is what you are interested in now but looking at strong filters of Gmail, it seems pretty difficult. As the tabs pull down the exposure of marketing emails sent by businesses, the fall in open rates will surly, go down. The way out from this situation is you should be focusing on the content of promotional emails. A good content always is paid off. There may exist some easier ways to overcome, which can come out of a person really good in optimizing email marketing process. Consulting a firm providing services of SEM is an option always open. If your client does not includes the promotion tab you will be in his/her primary tab. However, sending content similar to that of blog is also advisable, as its not direct marketing. On the other hand, you will only be suggesting them in better contextual manner.
